The drawstring closure and the adjustable waist belt ensure the proper fit so the vest will stay in place, even when you fall into the water. Buoyancy aids with a buoyancy rating of 50 N are intended for competent swimmers in sheltered waters. These personal floatation devices have minimal bulk, but they are of limited use in rough waters, and cannot be expected to keep the user safe for a longer period of time. They do not have sufficient buoyancy to protect people who are unable to help themselves and require active participation from the user.
